SALISBURY, N.C. — Police said a man with a shotgun robbed a Walgreens in Salisbury and escaped through the pharmacy drive-thru.

WSOC-TV reported that the armed suspect entered the store at 1505 East Innes St. on Sunday night.

Police said the suspect slid across the counter and stole some pills. He allegedly escaped the store through the pharmacy’s drive-thru window.

During the incident, employees locked the doors so no one else could enter the store, according to police.

Employees also locked customers in a small room to keep them away from the suspect, police said.

A description of the suspect has not yet been released. Police said they will sent out a picture of the suspect shortly.
