BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Demolition trucks spread through downtown Burlington as crews knocked down old buildings as part of the Front Street Redevelopment Project.

What was once the jewelry building at the corner of South Main Street is now a pile of rubble.

Officials said the $1.5 million project will bring news shops and restaurants to the area and help revitalize Burlington.
