Pedestrian killed after being hit by vehicle in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. –- Authorities said a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle Sunday afternoon in Greensboro.

Police said it happened when an Acura struck a pedestrian around 3:45 p.m. The eastbound lanes of Bryan Boulevard at New Garden Road were closed for more than four hours.

Police said the pedestrian was struck on the highway and died after being taken to Cone Health.

Police have not released the identity of the victim and are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. No other injuries were reported.
