New candy factory in Mebane to bring nearly 100 jobs

MEBANE, N.C. — Nearly 100 “sweet” jobs are coming to Mebane.

The jobs will be available with a new candy factory in the Mebane area. Gov. Pat McCrory participated in a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday.

Morinaga America Foods, based in Japan, is building a new 120,000 square foot facility.

The company will invest about $48 million over the next three years.
