SALISBURY, N.C. — A man in Salisbury was arrested Thursday after police say he offered an undercover officer money for sex.

WBTV reports the investigation against Jose Colindres began when residents complained to police about a man soliciting sex from women in their neighborhood.

Residents in the neighborhood of Fulton Heights and Maupin and Mitchell Avenues say Colindres had been approaching women from the ages of 12 to 74 and offering to pay them for sex.

An undercover officer responded to the scene and reports Colindres approached her and asked if she had a boyfriend.

When she said no, Colindres said he had not been with anyone in two years, according to WBTV.

He then offered the undercover officer $30 for sex.

Colindres was arrested and charged with soliciting prostitution. His bond was set at $2,500.

Anyone who may have had contact with Colindres is asked to call police.
