Dash cam video shows officers saving 6-year-old from vicious dog attack

CINCINNATI, Ohio — Police dash cam video released on Friday shows officers saving a 6-year-old girl who was being viciously attacked by a pit bull, according to WLWT.

Editor’s note: This video may be disturbing to some. Discretion is advised.

Zaniabou Drame, 6, is listed in critical but stable condition at a Cincinnati hospital.

“The dog had her by the face… so the dog pulled her skin off, broke her jaw, her tongue is gone,” according to Leslie McElrath, the girl’s grandfather.

According to WLWT, the dog involved in the attack was a pit bull.

There have been no charges filed against the dog’s owner. City Prosecutor Charles Rubenstein told WLWT the city is “not filing any charges until we are certain the child is going to survive.”

“The image I will never get out of my head… was the child’s head in the mouth of the brown dog and he was thrashing his head back and forth,” Cincinnati police officer Kyle Strunk said.
