Groceries stolen from woman’s SUV moments after she is killed in crash

HOUSTON — Criminals stooped to a new low Wednesday afternoon, stealing groceries out of a wrecked vehicle moments after the driver was killed in a crash, according to KTRK.

Houston police told KTRK a mother behind the wheel of a Toyota SUV collided with another car, crashed into a tree and died on impact.

Before help could arrive at the scene of the crash, thieves pounced. Witnesses told police they saw people stealing groceries out of the front seat of the dead woman’s SUV.

The woman’s two sons, ages 6 an 4, were also in the vehicle at the time of the wreck. KTRK reports that they were wearing seat belts but were not sitting in car seats. Both were rushed to a local hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe the woman was at fault in the accident and was not wearing her seat belt.

This makes me feel like I don’t even want to be a part of the society in which I live any longer. I’m at a total loss for words.

Well I’d say not if you posted a comment. Very few people who post comments are at a loss for words.

I will say that the people who stole the food from that vehicle are no better than cockroaches.

She may have been saved if she was wearing her seatbelt. How sick it was to steal from a person who just died! I hope and pray those scumbags are caught!

It is sad. Got something better than that though. When my dad died and was in the morgue at moses cone. He was robbed. Some employee of moses cone stole all but ten dollars out of his wallet. My dad neverf carried less than a thousand dollars on him.

While I believe the perps acted in poor taste, I can’t condemn the hungry. Until you’ve truly been hungry (and I have), don’t attempt to judge.
