RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — The victim of a fiery crash in Randolph County early Tuesday morning has been identified.

According to a spokesperson for the N.C. Highway Patrol in Raleigh, the victim has been identified as Billy James Hill, 42, of Asheboro.

The deadly crash happened around 1:15 a.m. on Old N.C. 49 in the Farmer community.

Troopers say the Ford Mustang that Hill was driving slammed into the end of a concrete bridge at a high rate of speed.

Speed was most likely the factor, as the speed at impact was 100 mph in a 55 mph zone, according to officials.

The victim and car were reportedly burned beyond recognition.

Hill died at the scene.

Sorry he is dead and thoughts out to the family.
Just because someone can drive at 100mph does not mean they should. Glad nobody else was killed.

If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Plain and simple. The family is suffering enough and don’t need your unnecessary cruelness. No one is perfect and no one deserves it to be perfect. No one has it easy, everyone has issues. You never know what people are going through. So pause before you start judging, criticizing or mocking others . Everybody is fighting for their own unique war!
