MARION, N.C. -- Police have arrested a woman after her 3-year-old child tested positive for methamphetamine, according to WLOS.

Jessie Green, 25, of Marion, was charged with felony negligent child abuse causing serious physical injury.

Investigators went to Green's Spaulding Woods Apartment home with social workers who had been tipped off that children could be in harms way.

The Department of Social Services took Green's two children, ages 8 and 3, into protective custody. Drug tests on the children revealed the 3-year-old had high levels of methamphetamine exposure.

Green also tested positive for methamphetamine.

Green was placed in the McDowell County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond.
