KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — A Kannapolis woman and her boyfriend are scheduled to make their first court appearance Wednesday on charges accusing them of beating and killing her niece.

Alisha Carlisle and her boyfriend, John Turner, face charges of first degree murder, felony child abuse and assault with a deadly weapon.

Carlisle is the aunt of 15-month-old Malaya Heun, a baby who died in January after police say she was severely beaten.

Doctors said she had broken ribs, bruising on her head and body and internal injuries that eventually led to her death.

The Kannapolis police chief called Malaya’s death one of the worst cases of child abuse he’s seen in 30 years.

Poor baby. What would she think of adults….pure pain. Its a terrible day when innocent children have no protection in the womb or out of the womb.

I am normally against the death penalty, but after reading the details of this physical and sexual abuse in other reports I would like to personally torture and kill these people myself. God bless little Malaya’s soul. May her life after this one be filled with peace and joy.
