Man killed in Siler City shooting identified

CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. — Chatham County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting that left one man dead early Sunday just outside Siler City.

The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Demetrius Elliot Headen of Siler City, according to deputies.

Deputies were called to 1636 Snow Camp Road in Siler City around 3 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities have no suspects and are working to establish a motive.

Deputies said investigators are continuing to follow up on leads.
