Police looking for man accused of breaking into apartment, assaulting teenager

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police are looking for a man accused of breaking into an apartment and hitting a 17-year-old girl with a handgun.

Police said it happened shortly before 10:45 p.m. Saturday at 2504 E. Wendover Ave. after the suspect got into an altercation with another man.

Police said 27-year old Romiro Martinez got a handgun out of his vehicle and forced his way inside the apartment, striking a teenager girl with the gun. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, according to police.

The suspect was last seen running from the apartment, according to officials.

Warrants were obtained on Martinez for felony breaking and entering to assault and terrorize and assault on a female, police said.
