A CNN reporter was detained by police in Turkey on Saturday during a live television report on the one-year anniversary of the Taksim Square protests.

Istanbul correspondent Ivan Watson was in Taksim Square when he was approached by an officer who asked to see his passport.

“We’re being detained right now,” Watson can be heard saying before the camera cuts out. “I’m being kicked.”

Watson said the CNN team was released after about a half hour.
