Alamance-Burlington Schools Superintendent Cox to resign
ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Superintendent Lillie Cox will resign from Alamance-Burlington Schools effective June 30.
The Times-News reports that school board Chairman Tony Rose announced Cox’s resignation Friday at a specially called meeting.
Cox will reportedly receive a $200,000 severance payment at a later date.
The search for an interim superintendent will begin immediately and Cox is expected to help the interim superintendent transition into the office.
Cox was hired as superintendent in May 2011 with a contract that extended through June 2017.
No reason was given for the resignation.
