RALEIGH — North Carolina residents can now pay fines and related court costs with a credit or debit card.
The N.C. Administrative Office of the Courts said Tuesday the credit card payment system provides immediate benefits to citizens, as well as to court officials and staff.
The system allows faster register close-out procedures for clerks and gives state residents a more convenience payment option.
The new system, implemented in all counties as of this month, has already processed 24,000 transactions statewide totaling $4 million.
