MILWAUKEE — An 18-year-old man was charged in connection with a shooting at a playground that left a 10-year-old girl seriously injured.
Sylvester Lewis is facing charges of first-degree reckless injury, first-degree recklessly endangering safety and possession of a firearm by a felon.
On the evening of May 21, 10-year-old Sierra Guyton was shot in the head while at a playground. She was caught in the crossfire when Lewis and another individual were shooting at each other.
Sierra was taken to Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. She has moved her eyes, but for the most part, remains unresponsive.
A witness told police they heard approximately 20 shots fired during the incident.
