FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — Two people were injured in an early morning hit and run Tuesday.

The wreck happened around 5 a.m. between an tractor-trailer and a pickup truck.

N.C. Highway Patrol says both vehicles were traveling on Highway 158 in Forsyth County near Brinkley Road when the tractor-trailer swerved into the lane where the pickup truck was driving.

The tractor-trailer overcorrected and the two vehicles collided. The pickup truck came to a stop in the road, but the tractor-trailer kept going.

Both people in the truck were transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with unknown injuries. Officers report both patients were alert and talking.

Officers are still looking for the tractor-trailer.

The tractor-trailer is described as a white, 2004 Penske tractor-trailer with the tag P301278. It will possibly have damage to the passenger side. The rig was last seen on Highway 158 heading toward Walkertown.
