CHARLESTON, S.C. — Bill Murray apparently crashed a random guy’s bachelor party in Charleston, South Carolina over the weekend and delivered a great speech to the groom-to-be.
“Over Memorial Day weekend, 20 of my buddies from Boston College got together in Charleston for our friend EJ’s bachelor party,” Stephen wrote to Deadspin.”At one point during dinner at a steakhouse, one guy goes to the bathroom downstairs and sees Bill Murray sitting with some people with a fishing vest on.”
Stephen said they talked to the waiter and attempted to send Murray drinks, but he declined. One of the men then asked him if he would say a few words to EJ. He initially declined but surprised the group later in the evening.
After talking with EJ, Murray turned to the group of men at the bachelor party and gave them some advice, because it was “too late” for the groom-to-be.
“Here’s what I recommend to you. If you have someone you think is the one, don’t just sort-of-think… let’s make a date, let’s plan this and make a party and get married. Take that person and travel around the world. Buy a ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world to places that are hard to get to and hard to get out of. And if when you come back to JFK… you’re still in love with that person? Get married at the airport.” – Bill Murray

Too cute. He lives not far from me but I never see him. Some friends have, however.

Wonderfully stated by Murray!

Random. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
If one is asked to speak and then one does, that is not random.

RANDOM – …
4. Informal.
a. unknown, unidentified, or out of place: A couple of random guys showed up at the party.
b. odd and unpredictable in an amusing way: my totally random life.
So, um, yeah…some words do have more than one meaning.
