Man robbed, attacked with BBQ fork
TEXAS — One person was injured Sunday afternoon when he was allegedly jumped and attacked with a barbecue fork in Lufkin.
At 1:37 p.m. on the 2700 block of Paul Avenue, a victim claimed three people robbed him while he was lying on a couch in a shed behind his parent’s house. One of the robbers he knew only by first name.
Their name was not released by police.
During the incident, one of the unknown bandits grabbed the victim around the throat and began choking him. The other two then began hitting him. At one point in the scuffle, one of the unknown robbers grabbed a BBQ fork off a nearby grill and began trying to stab the victim.
The victim fought back and and was able to escape with only injuries to his right leg. The robbers then grabbed cash from the table and left the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
Medical crews were called to the scene, but the victim refused to be taken to a hospital.
No arrests have been made in the case.
