800-pound alligator hit, killed by vehicle in eastern NC

DARE COUNTY, N.C. — Crews utilized a machine to remove an 800-pound alligator that had been struck and killed by a vehicle in Dare County on Sunday night, according to WAVY.

Officials told WAVY the alligator was killed just before midnight along Highway 64 between Milltail Road and Creef Cut.

The alligator was over 12-feet long and weighed at least 800 pounds.
