CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police said a business owner shot and injured a man accused of trying to rob his store Sunday afternoon in Charlotte.

WBTV reported that the owner of Whole Sale Mattress Store on South Boulevard and Starmount Cove Lane shot a suspect during an armed robbery.

Police said it happened between 1:30 and 2 p.m. as two men allegedly tried to rob the owner at gunpoint.
