IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Police are searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting a girl and living in her closet.

WSOC reports that a woman found Jarred Workman, 27, of Albemarle, hiding in her daughter’s closet Friday. Police say Workman had moved into the closet and was living there April 27 through May 2.

The woman’s daughter said she met Workman online and arranged a meeting, but once he got to her house he sexually assaulted her. Police say Workman and the girl had developed an online relationship three weeks prior to April 27.

The parents of the girl said they had no idea Workman was living in their daughter’s closet.
