Man on scooter dies after being struck by Jeep in Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man on a scooter has died after being struck by a Jeep in Greensboro Friday night.
Police say Nicholas Loconte, 49, of Greensboro, was riding his scooter west on West Lee Street and attempted to turn left in front of oncoming traffic.
He was struck by a 1993 Jeep Cherokee traveling east on West Lee Street. The driver was John Michael Hurd, 24, of Reidsville. He was not injured.
Loconte was transported to Moses Cone Hospital where he died from his injuries.
The wreck is under investigation.
