1 dead, 6 hospitalized in Salisbury crash

SALISBURY, N.C. — One person is dead and six other have been hospitalized after a vehicle crash in Salisbury Sunday night.

Police said the crash happened around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Woodleaf Road and Highway 601, near Highway 70.

WSOC is reporting the two vehicles were heading in the opposite direction on Woodleaf Road when one driver lost control of their car and T-boned an SUV.

There were two people inside the car and five people inside the SUV.

Police have not released the names of anyone involved.

Troopers said they do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident, but that speed may have been a factor.
