BISMARCK, Mo. (KTVI) — A postcard sent 73 years ago has finally been delivered.

The card was supposed to be sent from a Missouri soldier to his sister in 1941. The card finally arrived at its destination in Bismarck, Missouri this week.

The card had already been postmarked, but ended up lost in transit in the Jefferson City post office only to be rediscovered earlier this month.

While neither the sender or the addressee are still alive, a postal employee was able to track down a family member.

The post office used Facebook to find the person it was originally sent to.
