ASHEBORO, N.C. — Family, friends and state leaders will gather in Asheboro today, to honor the memory of former congressional candidate Keith Crisco.
Crisco, 71, died Monday after an accidental fall at his home. He was a beloved businessman, politician and advocate for Asheboro.
After a little more than one term as a city councilman, Crisco went from a mentor to a leader as Secretary of Commerce for North Carolina.
The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Asheboro.
Crisco leaves behind his wife, Jane, three children and six grandchildren.
