Motorcyclist hit by second vehicle after colliding with van in Pfafftown

PFAFFTOWN, N.C. — A motorcyclist was critically injured after colliding with two cars in an intersection in Pfafftown Wednesday night.

The wreck happened around 11:25 p.m. in the intersection of Yadkinville Road at Transou Road.

Winston-Salem Police say Johnnie Knight, Jr. was driving a motorcycle west on Yadkinville Road when he collided with James Snider who was driving a 1995 Dodge Van east on Yadkinville Road.

The van was turning north onto Transou Road in the intersection when it collided with the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was ejected and collided with a 2012 Honda Civic driven by David Marler.

Knight was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital with critical life-threatening injuries.

The drivers of the other vehicles were not injured in the accident.

It is unknown if speed or alcohol were factors in the wreck.

The investigation is ongoing.

    Not sure who was at fault here, but it never hurts to ask everybody to look twice, obey traffic signals and signs, and take that extra second to make sure all is clear. Other than a mechanical failure, there are no such things as accidents…someone is always at fault and we are all guilty at one time or another. But we cal all be more careful. Please…lives depend on it.
