50,000 gallons of oil spill on California streets
GLENDALE, Calif. — A ruptured oil pipe near the suburb of Glendale has spilled about 50,000 gallons of crude oil onto streets Thursday morning, according to authorities.
Crews are working to clean up the massive spill after the above-ground oil line broke, sending oil spewing into the air and onto the streets.
No one was hurt.
The oil has covered about a half-mile area, gathering up to knee-high in some places.
HAZMAT crews are on the scene.
