GREENSBORO, N.C. — All you need is 50 cents and it can all be yours.

UNCG’s “Cram and Scram” sale features unwanted items from students.

As students “scram” for the summer, university officials set out trash bins and asked them to “cram” anything they didn’t want into the bins.

Clothes, shoes, decorations, appliances and televisions were stuffed in the bins. All of the items will be sold to the community for only 50 cents.

University officials said the event is an effort to keep the items out of the landfills.

The sale will be Saturday, May 31, at the Elliot University Center on UNCG’s campus. It will last from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Admission is free and parking is free at the Walker Avenue parking deck.

Last year’s event kept 8 tons of stuff out of local landfills.
