ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A 5-year-old saved her babysitter’s life in Asheville Friday afternoon by calling 911.

According to WLOS, the Mildred Monteith was doing laundry when she fell down the stairs and hit her head on concrete.

By making the call, officials say Jaylee Monteith, 5, saved her sitter’s life.

“She can’t get up,” Jaylee is heard saying on the 911 recording. “She needs to go to the hospital.”

It was reported that Jaylee also led a three-year-old boy by the hand as she told the next door neighbor what happened.

Morris was rushed to the hospital and was treated with 12 staples in her head.

“It makes tears come to my eyes,” Morris says. “Because without her I would have been bleeding to death. She is my hero.”

Glad the parents of this child taught her how and when to use the 911 system. All children should be taught this. Smart little girl.
