Three arrested after victim assaulted, kidnapped for ransom in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Three people were arrested after a person was kidnapped, assaulted and held for ransom over the weekend.

The victim contacted his father from Davidson County and told him he was being held against his will until money could be delivered to his captors.

The suspects and the victim’s father arranged to meet in the parking lot of the Planet Fitness located at 2672 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem.

Officers responded right before the exchange was supposed to take place and arrested the suspects.

Brandon Scott Lilly, 34, of Winston-Salem was charged with felonious restraint; Jordan Caine Brock, 23, of Lexington was charged with felonious restraint, possession of schedule IV and possession of schedule VI; Mikayla Rhae, 23, of Winston-Salem was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, possession of schedule VI and drug paraphernalia.

No photographs of the suspects will be released at this time.

Officers learned that the victim was held against his will and assaulted numerous times throughout the day due to an outstanding debt.

The initial kidnapping began in Davidson County and officers notified Winston-Salem to assist.

The victim was transported to Baptist Hospital with head trauma from multiple weapon strikes to the head. His injuries were not life-threatening.

This investigation is ongoing.
