Only papers found inside ‘suspicious’ briefcase in Thomasville

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Police said only papers were inside a “suspicious” briefcase that was found “wrapped in wiring” outside a diner in Thomasville on Monday morning.

Winston-Salem Police Department’s bomb squad responded to the scene. The briefcase was found next to the rear tire of a car outside the Cruz-In Diner on East Main Street around 8:30 a.m.

Around 12:15 p.m., Thomasville police confirmed only papers were found inside the briefcase.

The briefcase was wrapped in multicolored wires. Officers will continue the investigation to determine whether the incident was accidental or a prank.

Traffic is being diverted around Main Street.

    a boom boom really maybe he didnt have tape to keep it closed so he had to do like any wet back would do use wire .thats what half of um fix there cars with lol

    yes because there are so many high profile targets in tville. or maybe no one near there had ever seen a briefcase before and didnt know what it was. why dont you take all that police presence and tax dollars and SOLVE SOME CRIMES – put the growing number burglars and home invaders in jail and quit wasting our tax dollars on this nonsense!!!!!!!!!!!!
