MARINE CORPS AIR STATION NEW RIVER, N.C. — About 160 Marines and Navy personnel in North Carolina will be heading overseas to support military operations in southwest Asia.

The unit is reported to be the last one to deploy as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

According to the Jacksonville Daily News, a Marine light attack helicopter squadron and an aviation logistics squadron deployed late last week from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

Helicopter squadron 467 will provide offensive air support and other services for a Marine task force in the region.
