WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Three people were arrested after a kidnapping reported Saturday in Winston-Salem.

Winston-Salem police said the victim contacted his father and told him he would be held against his will unless the father could deliver money.

The suspects and father decided to meet in the parking lot of the Planet Fitness at 2672 Peters Creek Parkway, police said.

Police arrested the suspects in the gym’s parking lot. Police said the victim was found and had to be taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries he received during the kidnapping.

The victim sustained head trauma from multiple personal weapon strikes to the head, according to police. Police have not released the victim’s age.

Police said the kidnapping originally started in Davidson County. The victim was being held due to an outstanding debt, according to police.

The arrestees include Brandon Scott Lilly, 34, of Winston-Salem; Jordan Caine, 23, of Lexington, and Mikayla Rhae McBride, 23, of Winston-Salem. Two of the suspects also face charges of possessing drugs.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information can call police at (336) 727-2800.

why does it have to be about race? Think about the people who feared what happened instead of making it about race. This is why people can never go forward.
