AKRON, Ohio — It was an extra special Mother’s Day for a mother whose rare “mono mono” identical twins were apparently born holding hands.

Fox 8 Cleveland reported that Jenna and Jillian were born to Sarah and Bill Thistlethwaite Friday at Akron General Medical Center.

The twins are reportedly considered “mono mono” twins — where the babies shared an amniotic sack.

“They were born 45 seconds apart,” said Amy Kilgore, a hospital spokesperson who was there for the birth. “Once they made sure they were OK, they held them up so mom and dad could see. As soon as they were side by side, they held hands. It gave me chills.”
