DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. — They made headlines in 2004 as the first set of quintuplets born in the Triad – and in just a few weeks they’ll finish third grade.
Morgan, Madelyn, Carson, Ben and Sean Brewer were all born fighters in November of 2004. And they know the details of their fight down to their birth weight, which was around two pounds each.
Carson never came home. He passed away six months after birth from pulmonary hypertension.
But his family remembers and loves him, especially on their birthday and on May 16th, the day they say he became an angel. His name is always on the birthday cake.
Those first months of multiple feedings and first years of diaper changes still seems like yesterday for Marcus and Cherie Brewers.
Now, nine years later, the family is embracing the healthy personalities of their multiple blessings.
Morgan likes softball, Madelyn likes to read, Ben is silly and Sean has a big heart.
Being a parent to multiple children is not easy, but lots of smiling faces make life so much richer.
The family describes the last nine years as a “huge blessing.”
