19,000 chickens dead after fire destroys chicken farm in Harnett Co.
CAMERON, N.C. — Thousands of chickens died after a fire swept through a chicken farm Thursday afternoon in Cameron.
It happened in the 2900 block of Marks Road.
One of the four chicken house was heavily damaged by the fire and most of the building had collapsed.
Fire officials said about 19,000 chickens died in the blaze.
No one was injured.
There’s no word yet on what sparked the fire.
