Police say kidnapper, victim could be in NC

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — North Carolina State troopers and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are working to find a woman who was kidnapped and they believe the suspect could be headed to Union County.

Tamra Beam, 51, was in Knoxville, Tenn., when investigators think her ex-husband Dennis Smith, 53, abducted her.

Authorities across several states are looking for her. She may be in a Blue Ford Fusion with the North Carolina license plate BCB 9836.

The car was registered out of Union County, according to affiliate WATE.

Beam is believed to be in physical danger and police are asking for members of the public to contact 865-215-7212.
