Eric Ebron drafted by the Detroit Lions

NEW YORK — UNC star tight end Eric Ebron has been drafted by the Detroit Lions with the 10th overall pick in the NFL Draft.

The former Ben L. Smith High School standout was expected to go high in this year’s NFL draft.

Ebron played for three years at North Carolina, emerging as a star tight end.

Playing along side wide receiver Calvin Johnson (“Megatron”), Ebron and the Lions could be quite the receiving threat in the coming season.
