UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Two men have been arrested after officials say they held two teens hostage in a Union County home for six hours Tuesday morning.

Deputies say the standoff began after a home invasion around 10 p.m. Monday at a home in Stallings.

A 13-year-old teen boy told police that he heard a knock on the door just before 10 p.m.

He told his sister to go hide in a back bedroom while he went to answer it. When he opened the door, he was met by two men, one of them pointing a gun in his face.

The SWAT team was able to pull the teens to safety before arresting two men.

The first man voluntarily came out of the home and is charged with kidnapping and breaking and entering.

The second man was found hiding in a closet of the home following more than a six hour standoff with SWAT teams.

The men have not been identified.

So glad these kids were not hurt. Teach your kids not to open the door for anyone!
Someone knocks on my door late at night and I do not know them. I am calling 911. If they just need help, the cops can help them. If they try to get in…well I have a plan for that too.

13 years old with a small sister is not grown enough to be able to be home alone and babysit! Parents need to wake up!

Yea 10pm is too late for a kid home alone to be answering doors it’s unsafe enough during the day if the parents have keys he shouldn’t even have answered it anyways
