Suspect arrested for Winston-Salem ATM armed robbery

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A suspect has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Wells Fargo ATM on Sunday night.

According to police, a 15-year-old juvenile was identified as the suspect of the robbery on West Fourth Street.

A custody order was obtained charging the juvenile with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The juvenile was taken into custody and placed in a juvenile detention center.

Officers also recovered a handgun used in the crime.

Due to the age of the offender, police will not be releasing a name or photograph.

    He should be charged as an adult. If he is old enough to use a gun to commit a crime, he is old enough to be charged as an adult. I hope he gets more than a slap on the wrist.
    I am sure the start of a long criminal career.

    He knew what he was doing….I am sure he will get the book thrown at him, however, with the wonderful system we have, the kid will be locked up until he is 18, released and his records sealed!
