Suspect sought for armed robbery of Gibsonville business

GIBSONVILLE, N.C. — Police responded to a reported armed robbery at a Gibsonville business on Friday morning.

According to police, a suspect entered the Dollar General, located at 600 Whitsett Ave., shortly before 8 a.m.

The store associate was getting ready to go make a bank deposit when the suspect entered the store armed with a handgun. The suspect stole the deposit and fled the scene.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5’10” to 6′ tall with a slender build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and brown boots at the time of the incident.

No injuries were reported.
