Pro skater from Greensboro convicted of having sex with teen
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – A professional inline skater from Greensboro has been convicted of having sex with a 14-year-old girl in Indiana.
The Journal Gazette reported that a northeastern Indiana jury has convicted 28-year-old William E. Bowen on two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor on Thursday.
Bowen was taken into custody after an Allen County jury convicted him on the felony counts. He was charged last June with two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.
The incident reportedly happened during an inline skating competition in Fort Wayne, Indiana during the summer of 2011.
The victim was apparently also in the city for the competition and said she was Bowen’s “No. 1 fan.”
The girl told police Bowen had sex with her while they were alone in his hotel room. Officials said the victim had visited the hotel while hanging out with fellow skaters.
