STOKES COUNTY, N.C. — Riley Adkins loves to hit golf balls, and she has a great swing.
This 3-year-old started playing golf when she was just a year and a half with a plastic golf club set.
Now she has her own set of tiny, pink clubs custom made to her size.
Riley practices with her dad in Stokes County just about every day. Then they go to the local golf course to play a few holes.
“She definitely turns a lot of heads and she’s impressed a lot of my friends and family and a lot of the pros at the golf course,” her father said. “They say she’s got a natural ability.”
It’s something Riley’s parents hope she’ll continue to excel at as she gets older.
“As long as she’s interested in it we’ll give her all the opportunities we can to succeed.”
But when you ask this 3-year-old what she wants to be when she grows up, she has one simple answer.
If your kids would like to try golf, the “Clubs for Kids” event will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in Thomasville.
