Minor injuries reported in Greensboro school bus wreck

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Two people suffered minor injuries when a school bus they were on collided with a car Thursday morning in Greensboro.

The accident happened at the intersection of High Point Road and Mackay Road around 7:40 a.m.

Police say the driver of the bus and another person on board were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

No children were on board the bus, which was between routes at the time.

Officials said the driver and assistant were the only two on board. The bus was a First Student bus.

Investigators say the bus was heading south on High Point Road and an Acura was heading north when the driver of the Acura failed to yield while trying to make a left turn onto Mackay Road.

The driver of the Acura, Christopher Ervin Howie, 35, High Point, has been cited, according to police.

Unless you drive a school bus Faith you don’t need to make stupid comments. I’m a bus driver. I have 35-45 kids I’m responsible for when they are on the bus. AND WE DO MORE THAN KEEP A SEAT WARM.
