4 displaced after house fire in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Four people have been displaced after an early Thursday morning fire in Winston-Salem.

Twenty-two firefighters responded to the fully engulfed house fire in the 1900 block of Dacian Street around 1 a.m.

Four adults were home at the time of the fire, but they were not injured.

Officials say the fire started in the living room, and believe oxygen tanks inside the home exploded.

The exact cause is unknown. Officials are investigating.

The fire was out by 5:30 a.m., but firefighters are still monitoring hot spots. The house is a total loss and the roof collapse in the later morning hours.

Red Cross is assisting the family.
