NEW YORK — Frontier Airlines will soon start charging for carry-on bags placed in the overhead bin and advance seat assignments.

The Denver-based airline is attempting to transform into a fee-dependent airline similar to Spirit Airlines and Allegiant Airlines.

Frontier Airlines currently flies from Greensboro (PTI) to Denver (DEN).

Frontier currently charges $1.99 for soda or water on its flights, a fee added on July 1, according to the Associated Press.

In exchange for the new fees, the airline says it is lower its base fare by an average of 12 percent. The new charges will apply to new ticket purchases.

Why pay baggage fees or deal with new carry-on restrictions when you can wear everything you need? I suggest … they sell 50+ clothing items for men & women with hidden pockets made to carry the contents of your bag/purse/backpack/briefcase.

Airport security is easier too – I just take off my jacket, put it in the bin (no need to unload the pockets, even leave your iPad in!) and walk through. TSA does not require you to remove electronic devices from SCOTTEVEST pockets! In 2013, airlines made over $6 Billion dollars in bag fees, don’t let them get any of your $ in 2014… wear SCOTTEVEST instead like me!
