JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Florida man was banned from a skate park after he was caught on video kicking his son down a skateboard ramp.

The incident was captured on video by another skater and posted on social media. The Florida Department of Children and Families is also looking into footage of the incident at the skatepark in Jacksonville.

The child, who is about 6-years-old, seems hesitant at the top of the ramp. The father is apparently upset with his impatient son and kicks him over the edge.

According to reports, the boy was okay and continued skating. However, the park's operator, Martin Ramos, asked the father not to come back "for a while."

“Unfortunately parents get so enthusiastic about their kids and their abilities and sometimes they take it a little too far,” Ramos told ABC News. “[The father] said he was just caught up in the moment, he seemed very remorseful, he certainly understands the gravity of the situation.”

That is flat out abuse. The child could have been seriously injured and charges need to be brought against the dad no matter how remorseful he claims to be. SURE you are remorseful! How horrible! 6 years old??? That’s still a baby, practically!!! GRRRRR!!!! Makes me mad enough to cuss!

Only because he got caught….his manner going down the steps you can tell he’s angry at the child and for what….that was TOO STEEP for a 6 year old. Some one needs to put his father up there and push his SORRY ………off!

I don’t care how “caught up” he was in the situation, this is awful. Dad just walks away too, you know this kid is hurt emotionally and physically. This kid is only 6…..seriously, Dad!? I am an adult and I would be scared to death to do what this father wanted him to do on the skateboard and ramp. Poor kid, your Daddy is a big ol’ a$$.

This “Dad”, If you Will… Had his hands placed firmly and threateningly on his hips Before, During AND AFTER kicking his 6 year old off the steep drop…NO REMORSE HERE.. Not for ONE second.. The “Dad” is Obviously VERY Proud of himself as he Casually strolls off AFTER kicking/Nudging??? his son off. HORRIFYING!!!

Why didn’t the Dad go first and show the child how it is ok ? Cause He can’t do what he wants the child to do….

and this man isn’t in jail or being questioned by CPS?

just be glad i wasn’t there when this happened because daddy would have went head first off this ramp right behind his son.

Well of course Dad was feeling remorseful, he probably seen he was being taped. Should be locked up and put on the Child Abuse Registry.
But like most cases it won’t happen, after all it was only a CHILD he abused. SICK, SICK, SICK!

this is why our children are be murder by their own parents, because no body gives a shit! This DAD (so called) is a peice of shit and NEEDS TO BE PUNISHED ASAP!!!!!!!! If they would STOP ALLOWING PARENTS TO ABUSE THEIR CHILDREN WE WOULD HAVE ALOT LESS DEAD CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

the kid was proteced with all kinds of pads and it does not hurt that bad he fail down an enclin if he wonts to be a skate boarder 1 day he has to fail some times he need to learn 1 day y not that day

  • Teresa

That is complete and utter BS that he is remorseful! He just kicked that kick and turned his back!!! NEVER EVEN LOOKED TO SEE IF HE WAS OK! Department of Children and Families better do something!!!!!! That is criminal assault on a child, neglect, and child endangerment!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Linda Chriscoe

Sure he had padden on ,but not on his little backside! He was hurt ,did you not hear him moan? I think they should check out the home of this child! He is most likely being kicked around!

  • Frank

haha that’s funny. At least the kid won’t be scared to go down the ramp now. Sometimes kids just need a little push.

  • anon

Aww man I wish I would have been there cause I would have knocked all of his teeth out then make him pick them all up and put them back in his mouth and then if he even got a tear I would have broke his nose and all of his fingers and for yo little punks who are saying he needs to learn I’ll be ok with teaching you how too use a wheel chair

    • Frank

What if I’m a kid? You have no idea…so you’re saying you’re going to break my legs and put me in a wheelchair. Hmmm seems to be 10x worse abuse than what’s shown in this video. That really doesn’t make you any better than the father in this video.
