THOMASVILLE, N.C. – Over the next two weeks, hundreds of people in the Piedmont who use wheelchairs will get help, making moving around a lot easier.

The North Carolina Baptist Aging Ministry plans to match local churches with those who use wheelchairs to build ramps for little to no cost.

Today and next Saturday, the group plans to match up seniors and the disabled with volunteers from Baptist churches throughout the state who come to their homes and build ramps.

Anyone who needs a wheelchair ramp, can call the organization at 1-877-506-2226 by May 3rd. After that, the program will only be open to those 65 and older.
