Two arrested in connection with bank robbery in High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Two people were arrested in connection with a robbery at a High Point bank on Tuesday.

Marvin Lee Nelson, 53, of High Point was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and jailed on a $100,000 secured bond.

Carolyn Dawn Hunt, 35, of High Point was charged with accessory after the fact of a felony and jailed on a $50,000 secured bond.

Officers responded to the robbery at First Citizens Bank on North Main Street around 10:09 a.m. Tuesday. The suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note  demanding money. He then fled the down Westwood Avenue on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers tracked the suspect’s path to a parking lot on East Westwood Avenue where it appears a dye pack exploded. The money from the dye pack and a small pistol were also found in the parking lot.

No one was injured.
